Education and Training

The Office for Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement (ODECE) offers speakers and training opportunities to students, faculty and staff members at the George Washington University.  As a higher education institution and active citizens, our students, faculty and staff must be intentional in cultivating a healthy climate and inclusive environment at GW, but many are unsure about how to recognize and address these critical issues. Utilizing the capacities of our Offices of Disability Support Services, Multicultural Student Services Center, Honey W. Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service and Title IX, ODECE provides leadership, resources, and support to advance and sustain inclusive environments for our faculty, staff, and students across the university.

These trainings and speakers equip students and staff with the necessary skills to promote acceptance, inclusion and celebration of our differences in the variety of environments they enagage in. The ODECE trainings and speakers cover the topics including but not limited to race, ethnicity, culture, sexuality, gender, religion, intersectionality, civic service, inclusive classrooms, (dis)ability and sexual violence preventions.

Trainings are available upon request by filling out the form below and can be tailored for groups or individuals. Please submit the form atleast two weeks prior to the date requested. For further information or questions, please email us at [email protected] or call 202-994-7434.
