Terri Reed serves as GW's inaugural Vice Provost for Diversity and Inclusion.  She has responsibility for advancing the university’s commitment to build a more diverse and inclusive community; a community that is broadly reflective of the diversity of society. This involves developing, revising or implementing relevant policies, procedures, and programs.  In addition, she plays a leadership role in fostering a climate that values and leverages the benefits of diversity, facilitates understanding across group boundaries, and contributes to GW’s efforts to make the Washington, D.C. area a healthier and more prosperous community.

Dr. Reed has been a higher education administrator for 31 years. Prior to her current role, she has held held academic and student affairs positions at Princeton University, University of Maryland, University of Chicago, and Oberlin College.
Dr. Reed earned degrees from Calvin College, Harvard University, and Howard University. She is a member and former board director of the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education.
