Rory Muhammad serves as the Director for the Office for Diversity, Equity and Community Engagement and Title IX Coordinator..  He is responsible for addressing sex discrimination in all aspects of education programs and activities at GW which includes issues related to sexual harassment and sexual violence, including relationship violence and stalking, within the community.  This involves developing, revising and coordinating policies, procedures and programs that address these issues.

Mr. Muhammad has been involved in diversity and inclusion work for approximately 20 years with ten years in higher education administration.  Prior to GW, he led the EEO complaint and Title IX compliance functions for George Mason University as well as the diversity and discrimination training there.

Mr. Muhammad received his B.S. degree specializing in Industrial Organizational Psychology from the University of Maryland, his master’s degree in Human Resource Management and Labor Relations from Rutgers University, and completed two years of doctoral coursework in Cross Cultural Relations at the University of Illinois.
