Diversity and inclusion can be seen across campus and beyond in the work of offices throughout the university.
As the largest institution of higher education in the nation's capital, GW attracts a multicultural, motivated and active community, one in which the leaders of today nurture the leaders of tomorrow.
The George Washington University Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Resource Center provides a comprehensive range of education, support and advocacy services to create and maintain an open, safe and inclusive campus environment. The LGBT Resource Center welcomes a diversity of racial, ethnic, religious, political, and cultural values and is committed to enhancing acceptance and quality of life for the entire GW community.

The Multicultural Student Services Center (MSSC) offers free training opportunities to students, faculty and staff members of the George Washington University (GW). These trainings equip students and staff with the necessary skills to promote diversity and inclusion in the different environments in which they find themselves frequently. These skills support diversity as a core value of the university by helping students create a climate that promotes the acceptance, inclusion and celebration of all cultures. Our diversity trainings include but are not limited to race, ethnicity, culture, sexuality and gender.

Trainings are available upon request and can be tailored for groups or individuals by emailing us at or simply calling us at 202-994-6772.

It is at the heart of our mission to enhance the University's fundamental committment to equality and fairness in recruitment, selection and employment at the University by applying the tenents of our affirmative action programs to expand and support diversity throughout the University; by guarenteeing an impartial, non-adversarial setting where grievances can be resolved through counseling and mediation; and by providing related training to staff employees.
