Department & Program Tutoring

Many organizations and departments on campus offer additional tutoring opportunities and specialized assistance.

STEM Works

STEMworks, located in Gelman library, provides tutoring in the STEM fields and most social and behavioral sciences courses including Accounting, Applied Sciences, Astronomy, Biology, Business Administration, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Political Science and Statistics. STEMWorks offers several drop-in hours and small group sessions each week.

Eckles Library

Eckles Library offers a host of resources for students from how to secure sources for a paper to group tutoring for economics and mathematics.

University Writing Center

University Writing Center conducts free one-on-one sessions to assist with course writing assignments, research papers, theses, and personal statements.

Language Center

The Language Center offers tutoring in foreign languages and support to students with non-English backgrounds.

Departmental Tutoring

School of Business

Tutoring is being offered during the Fall semester in the Department of Accountancy, Funger Hall 601.  No appointment is necessary; students are welcome to stop by to discuss their questions (primarily related to financial and managerial accounting).  Both undergraduate and graduate students can utilize this service.

School of Engineering and Applied Science

The School of Engineering and Applied Science offers walk-in group and individual tutoring for SEAS students in:

·Chemistry 1111 & 1112

·Math 1220, 1221, 1231, 1232, & 2233

·Physics 1021 & 1022, Biology 1111

·CSCI 1111 and many other courses

Chemistry Department in partnership with Alpha Chi Sigma

Alpha Chi Sigma provides tutoring in CHEM 1003, 1004, 1111, 1112, 2151, 2153, 3165. Tutoring is be available during drop in hours or by emailing the student tutor listed for the course. 

Free Calculus Tutoring from the Math Department

The Math Department provides free, walk-in (no appointment necessary) tutoring session available to any one enrolled in any Calculus class. 

Free Statistics Tutoring from the Department of Statistics

Peer Tutoring is offered for students in STAT 1051, 1053, 1111, 2112 and 2118 in Room 741, Rome Hall.
