GW Project SEARCH is an employment preparation program for DC residents, ages 18-29, offered through a university led partnership between GW, DC's Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA), and Goodwill of Greater Washington (GGW). Based entirely at GW, the program provides hands-on work experiences for interns through total immersion in campus workplace facilities.

The 11-month program creates opportunities for participants to explore a variety of career paths, as they set and accomplish work-related goals. In addition to rotating through three, 13-week university worksite internships, young adults receive daily instruction in disability awareness, self-determination, and employability skills.

On their journeys toward long-term, community-based, competitive employment, each GW Project SEARCH intern receives extensive individualized support from a team made up of family members, GW faculty and students, GGW career coaches and job developers, and a dedicated RSA counselor.
